IRENE’S TABLECLOTH, 2021

The recent pandemic had opened up my emphasis upon still life compositions in the studio. An unexpected passion for textiles and other ordinary, every-day objects has taken the forefront with the goal of rendering shifting planes, folds, and patterns. Although I still adore landscapes, our quarantining had given me this new gift to explore and enjoy.

I love working within the medium of oils - the smell, textures, color mixing, and making marks with my brushes. Light and its impact on value and color have an especially strong emphasis in my work and drive the connection to the emotional side of my compositions.

I remain enamored with the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist Periods. I will probably always look to their stewardship of expressive painting driven by light and color.

PLEASE VIEW MY PAINTINGS AND CONTACT ME, SHOULD YOU BE INTERESTED. PRICES OF ALL WORKS WILL BE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.

While I travel my road of painting passion, they are always with me. My signature includes my initials followed by three dots - relating to the location of my traveling children on that day of painting.
